John C. Reilly, the star of the upcoming Judd Apatow produced comedy Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, will tour the country next month in character as his alter ego Dewey Cox, the mythic rock & roll icon whose music influenced a nation. Reilly will perform live as Dewey Cox with his band, The Hard Walkers, the scorching rock ensemble, for the year's most anticipated concert series, the "Cox Across America Tour."
Dewey Cox & The Hard Walkers will hit the road for a select seven city run of rare live performances to support the December 21 opening of the comedy, "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story."
Cox, the legendary showman and his mind-blowing band will launch their historic concert tour tonight at the world famous Roxy on the Sunset Strip. The band will then continue on to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland on Wednesday, December 5 with subsequent shows in Chicago, Austin, Nashville, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York's fabled Knitting Factory (see full itinerary following).
During the "Cox Across America Tour," Dewey Cox & The Hard Walkers will perform classic tracks from "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story," the soundtrack album from the film of the same name. The definitive career-spanning collection of Dewey Cox hits, "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story" (Columbia Records) will be in stores and online on Tuesday, December 4.
Each of Dewey's concerts will be preceded by special screenings of "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story." Tickets to the events will be made available through local radio promotions in each of the markets where Dewey and his band are performing.
